Roli Gupta is a legal associate at Sharma Abhyanker LLP, handling the trademark, copyright and designs prosecutions for the firm. She also handles the trademark prosecution and intellectual property transaction agreements for Indian and U.S. based companies and travels between the firm’s international offices to advise clients on their intellectual property matters.
Prior to joining Sharma Abhyanker, LLP, she worked with the firm’s affiliate office in United States – Raj Abhyanker, P.C. as a trademark administrator and gained substantial experience in handling intellectual property matters independently. She also interned with Birch, Stewart, Kolasch & Birch, LLP in Virginia where she was trained in trademark and copyright filings, office actions and post registration procedures. Her experience in India includes working with leading law institutions Fox Mandal Little & Co., D.M. Harish & Advocates, Lex Orbis, Kachuaha & Partners and Copyright Office at Ministry of Human Resource Development under the government of India.
Apart from her legal experience, Roli is also a social activist and has worked with a number of government organizations such as National Human Rights Commission, National Commission for Women, National Consumer Dispute Resolution Commission and Human Rights Law Network, an NGO professing human rights at all levels.
Roli holds a LL.M. from Franklin Pierce Law Center at the University of New Hampshire and an LL.B. degree (with honors) from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University in Delhi, India. She also holds diplomas in mergers & acquisitions and cyber laws from the Asian School of Cyber Law, Pune and a certificate course in national and international intellectual property law from Indian Society of International Law, Delhi.
Roli is a licensed attorney in India enrolled with the Bar Council of Delhi is currently studying for her New York Bar Exam.
