Mr. Chen is a Partner at Raj Abhyanker PC’s Beijing office. Mr. Chen specializes in intellectual property protection with a focus on patent prosecution and enforcement. Mr. Chen’s patent expertise covers mechanical and electrical engineering, including optics, micromechanics, semiconductor, and computer science. Mr. Chen has also extensive experience in patent re-examination, invalidation, litigation, transfer and licensing.
Mr. Chen practiced in Beijing Liu & Shen IP Law Firm and NTD Patent &Trademark Agency LTD as a senior patent attorney for more than 6 years, handling both patent affairs and client liaison. He contributed great efforts to the cooperation and communication among Chinese, Korean and Japanese patent agents and firms. As one of his contributions to the communication between Chinese and Korean patent communities, Mr. Chen, as the leading member, translated the Patent Examination Guideline of China into Korean.
Mr. Chen is a legal counsel of various leading Japan and Korean companies in the areas of IT, semiconductor, electrical appliance, etc., providing legal advice on patent prosecution and protection in China. Mr. Chen is also a long-term PRC IP lecturer engaged by two famous Japan IT companies. Before his IP practice, Mr. Chen worked in Changchun Institute of Precision Mechanic Research, Chinese Academy of Science, as an electronic engineer for 5 years, and then in Matsushita and Fuji Soft ABC in Japan as a senior engineer for another 5 years.
Mr. Chen obtained the bachelor and master degrees in engineering from Beijing University of Technology and Changchun Institute of Optic and Fine Mechanism, Chinese Academy of Sciences respectively. Mr. Chen completed a series of IP courses in IP Department of Toshiba in 2005. He was admitted as PRC patent attorney in 2004. Mr. Chen is proficient in Chinese (native), Korean, Japanese and English.
